Heir of Patsy Cline’s property after her demise

Patsy Cline, a country music queen, started writing while sitting in an aeroplane. That day in April 1961, she started writing her final will and testament on Delta Airlines stationery while travelling to Kansas City, Kansas, rather than writing a new hit song, according to “Patsy Cline: The Making of an Icon.”

She intended for her mother, Hilda Hensley, and her two children, Julie and Allen, to inherit the majority of her assets until they turned 18. According to The Buffalo News, Cline was married to a man called Charlie Dick, but their relationship was tumultuous. She left their car and some things for Dick.

According to the Nashville Banner, Patsy Cline and three other people perished two years later on March 5, 1963, when her manager Randy Hughes’ aircraft crashed into a forested slope near Camden, Tennessee, due to inclement weather. After performing in Kansas City, they were on their way to Nashville. Everything passed to Cline’s husband because she never filed the will.

It’s a little unclear why Patsy Cline wrote her will while sitting on an aeroplane two years prior to her passing. The author of “Patsy Cline: the Making of an Icon,” Douglas Gomery, thought she might have been suffering from postpartum depression.

According to Gomery’s book, Cline died without a valid will since she never filed the handwritten will, and the case was taken to probate court when her life was tragically cut short at the age of thirty. At the time, Cline’s estate was valued at $4.5 million.

According to ‘Patsy Cline: the Making of an Icon’, Charlie Dick initially honoured Patsy Cline’s desire for her mother Hilda Hensley to elevate her  kids, Julie and Allen, who had been only 4 and  years antique on the time in their mom’s passing. However, she stipulated that Hensley ought to acquire the majority of her property with a view to assist in raising the kids.
